Back To All Liverpool Venues

With proof of existence as far back as the Iron Age, Liverpool was originally recognised all the way back in 1207, when King John gave the borough the Royal Charter, thanks to its proximity to the Irish Sea and potential as a maritime city. It wasn’t until the 18th century that Liverpool began to hit its stride, thanks to its bustling port, vital role in the Industrial Revolution and great transport links. Nowadays, the city’s makeup shows a clear reminder of the past, with Georgian architecture, the Royal Albert Dock, Liver Building, and more.

Today, Liverpool is known for its vibrancy and creativity, as a hub for the arts and culture. With the cities continued growth through the Victorian, Georgian periods, and early to mid 20th century, it flourished into a world culture capital. As history’s most popular band The Beatles came and went, the city’s musical reputation remained, with A Flock of Seagulls, The Real Thing, Dead or Alive, Ultrabeat, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, and more. The city is also famously home to the Merseyside Derby, Everton, and Liverpool, the most successful club in English football history.

The restaurant scene is diverse and vibrant, offering a wide range of culinary experiences to residents and visitors alike. From international cuisine to traditional English pub food, and upscale Michelin star dining, there is something for everyone.

Foodies can explore a range of different dining destinations, including the iconic Baltic Market, Georgia Quarter, and more.

As a proud, unique city, Liverpool is home to many charming areas, each with their own charm and personality. Liverpool One, alternatively L1, is the shopping centre of Liverpool, with many designer outlets, department stores, and a whole host of modern, international dining options.  The Georgian Quarter is where Liverpool’s residential past really shines, with gorgeous Georgian architecture, and a range of small, independent eateries.
