Sunday Lunch at Chez Mal kicks off with a seriously impressive feast from the Chef’s Table; we’re talking salads, antipasti and seafood. It takes this classic dining experience to a whole new level. Then pick your favouites from a variety of mains, including roasts such as sirloin of beef served with thyme & rosemary Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy. But don’t forget to leave room for one of the delicious desserts. This is the day for quality time, fabulous food and a relaxed social atmosphere, Mal style. Enjoy your Sunday Lunch with one of the creative cocktails for the perfect Sunday indulgence.

Chez Mal York is set within a converted landmark insurance building, on the corner of Rougier Street, in the heart of the historic city centre and just a short walk from York Station.

Firstly a huge thanks to Nathan who got us a window seat and made us feel very special indeed. One of the best waiters we have ever met. Secondly, massive praise for the floor manager who got us into the skybar in spite of security's best efforts to stop us. And further praise to be heaped upon the new girl, Amelia?? at the bar. Really pleasant and genuinely happy to serve us and chat. All in all one of the best experiences we have ever had, and trust me, we are much travelled. The food was excellent but my only disappointment were the scallops. Just two for £17 and they were still attached to the muscle which is a huge crime as far as I am concerned. That needs sorting. Nevertheless, a huge thumbs up to Malmaison. We most definitely will return.

Brilliant but don't be fooled by parking there are 7 spaces and when you follow the instructions to email no one gets back to you still no response so clearly no one checks this email. NCP next door for £26 and easy walking distance into the centre. Nice room but view from window was a concrete jungle and we booked the club room.

Clean and spacious rooms with good amenities, very happy to see a fridge. Visited both the bar downstairs and upstairs for drinks too and had great drinks and service. Will definitely consider again for our next trip to York
