We visited The Botanist in Sunderland to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lovely, creating the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, MJ, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect for us. The food was excellent, and we especially recommend the Brie starter, which was a real highlight. Overall, a wonderful place to dine, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for great food and a memorable experience!

You know what you are getting when you go. Prices slightly elevated as expected and hanging kebabs always for the win. Plenty seating outdoor for sunny days and a good amount of seats inside the bar area but it does get busy especially with a band on. Been for food a couple of times walk in but booking is probably advisable, especially for larger groups

The Botanist is a very aesthetically pleasing and comfy restaurant situated in keel square. The food was fantastic. The Sunday roasts were of large size and the Katsu Chicken curry was full of flavour and the chicken was very very crispy and flavourful in the panko crumbs. a wide offer of alcohol is available with a welcoming bright area of space inside. The live music available was also a very nice touch. people on the bar were friendly and knowledgeable too. the botanist lager is also very sweet.
