At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the heart of the historic Shakespearean town. The original part of the hotel was built in 1798 and has been carefully restored to retain its character and charm.

Visited last weekend with my husband. Struggled to find the entrance to the suggested car parks. Felt quite stressful as our arrival time coincided with busy Saturday traffic so make sure you're well prepared. We had to drive several laps before we found one very tight space remaining. Once checked in, the receptionist gave us a very warm welcome. Room was spacious and felt very clean. Only fault was that there were quite a few marks on the walls and chipped paint. It's a bit of a bug bear when it's a dark wall and there's white chunks so noticeable. Shower was very temperamental, couldn't move it slightly either way otherwise it would scald or freeze you. The water pressure was a bit underwhelming. View was of the public car park (unexpected perk as I forgot to lock the car and could do so from the room). Great location however. Within a short walking distance from the main shopping/ restaurant area. Would definitely stay again but would maybe try a different room.

We stayed for 3 nights we our dog and we also had a dinner at the restaurant. Great hotel in the town centre. Superior standards of the rooms and of the facilities. The coffee corner had also decaf, tea, biscuits and chocolates. Apart for the coffee machine and kettle. Iron/board, hairdryer, safe box and fridge. A big mirror in the toilet would have been appreciated. Something to say about the cleaning service as we had to ask for the second towel set (On the second day the double was replaced with a single set) and on the breakfast. They were overly pushing with the order for the kitchen although we arrived at the beginning of the service. We ended up with dirty plates (they didn’t removed them until the end) when the food arrived and we were still enjoying our croissant and yogurt. That was definitely annoying. Big thanks to the room ladies for the immediate response to our requests. The set menu at the restaurant is definitely too much in terms of portions and wine glasses.

What a fabulous hotel, parking easy right round the back with ringo payment. Quick to check in and lady there made sure we knew all we needed to and gave us a map to go round town. Room was outstanding, the Thierry Lombard room. Good cocktails at the bar, service impeccable. Quality breakfasts too. Well done Hotel Du Vin, we will see you soon
