At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the heart of the historic Shakespearean town. The original part of the hotel was built in 1798 and has been carefully restored to retain its character and charm.

Comfortable hotel, centrally positioned. Very modern decor, rooms tending to be dark. Not my personal taste, but spotless. Breakfast excellent, everything you could ask for. Reception staff friendly, as was all the staff we encountered. The big downside for this hotel is the car parking, about 12 spaces costing 20 quid, then it's over to the multi storey. Well positioned in central Stratford.

We stayed one night at Hotel Du Vin in Stratford on a Saturday in January. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The hotel looks good, with a bit of a stylish and upmarket feel—probably one of the best choices in the area. The only real issue was parking. The hotel is connected to a public car park that was really busy, so we used the 15-minute unloading space outside the hotel for our luggage. We then parked at the NCP across the road. It was a bit tight but worked fine, costing around £13 for the night. It would be better if the hotel had an agreement with the closer car park for guests. Our room, which included breakfast for £167.40, was clean and a good size. The bathroom was nice too. The TV wasn’t positioned well for watching in bed, but it didn’t bother us much. Our view was of the car park, so not great. The room was quiet overall, though we could hear some footsteps and banging from next door. The bed was very comfy, and the room felt fresh and well-ventilated. Breakfast was excellent—the food was great quality, and the waiter was friendly and very attentive. It’s definitely worth including breakfast in your stay. All in all, it’s great choice if you're visiting the area. The parking and view could be better, but we’d happily stay again.

The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and tastefully decorated. I believe the hotel is aiming at a more luxury feel. We were very disappointed however about what was not included, especially given the cost! We expected car parking, albeit were aware it is limited. We discovered on route to the hotel (after navigating an unclear website and unable to get through to anyone on the telephone) that we would have to pay an extra £23 for carparking for one night! We opted to pay a far cheaper very local car park. I also understood that we had a breakfast included for the cost, again upon arrival I was informed we had only paid for a room. The breakfast was another excessive addition. You expect these additions at more 'budget' hotels, but with this cost and feel I expect parking and breakfast included. Also small but frustrating things like customer service, I attempted to reach someone by telephone prior to the booking twice, no answer. The hotel is undoubtedly clean and finished to a high standard, however I wouldn't return as I don't feel the hotel is being transparent in it's pricing and when all is included, it seems excessive for what it is.
