At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel Du Vin Poole is situated in a narrow cobbled street, just off the historic Quayside in Poole. Originally built in 1776, as the 'Mansion House', the hotel has been decorated to reflect its nautical past, keeping original decorative features, with stone stairs and classical columns.

Sunday lunch for 2. The food was very good quality , French buffet table was inspiring and different from anything local, a nice twist with great salad and a refreshing hot soup. The Sunday roast main course was good , reflecting with my wife the portion was great for her - 2 thin slices of beef , Yorkshire with two smallish roast potato’s and carrots / broccoli. For most men the portion is slightly on the small side and compared to all other local offerings I would term the offer a small plate. Overall starter excellent , main good but portions on the small side

Nice little hotel, right by the sea (but no sea view). A friendly welcome, and the reception staff showed me to my room, which was large and clean (and accessible, which meant it was through the restaurant). Nice little breakfast choice including a small buffet selection and then plates direct from the kitchen which is always my preference over a big buffet kept warm... A good value one night stay.

We have just returned from an Afternoon Tea which was given to us by our son as a treat.....and what a treat it was. The table (although a bit near a large crowd having lunch which isn’t a criticism but would have been nice in a slightly quieter spot, but as I said, not a criticism), was spotless with a lovely setting of pure white cloths and shiny cutlery. When our tea treats arrived, a lovely young man went through what was on each of the three layers. We didn’t think we would eat it all - but we did ........apart from two fruit scones which the young man kindly popped into a box for us to bring home. Each sandwich/bridge roll was delicious as were the scones and the amazing top layer of various sweet treats. Thank you for a lovely, pleasant couple of our at The Hotel du Vin Poole.
