Can't comment on the rooms as we were only there for Christmas lunch. The food was excellent and the staff were very nice. We will certainly be coming back, maybe for dinner or a weekend away , lovely place.

We stayed in suite 36 for 3 nights. The room was very musty, the wallpaper on the ceiling was stained and peeling a little in places. We did complain and we were offered an alternative but not on the first night as there were no rooms available because of a wedding. We had asked for a room next to our travelling companions before booking but because of the wedding this was not possible. We would have to be the ones who had to stay in the musty room and then move. The bed was comfy enough although the pillows could be softer but that of course is personal choice. The staff on the whole were lovely. I can't say fully accommodating because we had to stay in the room and no compensation was given. The food was excellent. It was tasty and well presented. The temperature of the food that was served was especially excellent. Due to the price we paid, I definitely think our stay was not what we hoped for because our room totally let us down because of the smell in it. We opened all the windows of course, but it didn't help. The views around the estate are absolutely wonderful. We saw three fawns on the drive up to the estate which was just lovely and special.

Went to a Christmas party night. The food was ok and hot - nothing special and portions were a bit small. The disco was OK, but for a Christmas party night there was not much Christmas music and while lots of very old music is fine, there wasnt much modern stuff. Probably sounds like I'm being picky, but no provision was made for the non-drinkers, so I ended up paying another £15 odd on soft drinks even though I'd already paid £60 for the meal and included wine.
