At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel Du Vin Henley-on-Thames is situated on the banks of the River Thames. Behind the cluster of historic listed buildings, with their classic Georgian architecture, this old brewery has charming, original period details, and contemporary decor.

My weekend stay at Hotel du Vin Henley was absolutely delightful. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist, who was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, offering great recommendations for places to explore. The hotel itself exudes charm, blending historic character with modern comfort. My room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and well-maintained, making for a truly relaxing retreat. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure a comfortable stay. The staff throughout my visit were warm, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. Whether it was the restaurant, bar, or front desk, the level of hospitality was top-notch. Henley-on-Thames is a stunning location, and the hotel’s position made it easy to enjoy walks along the river and explore the town’s vibrant atmosphere. Check-out was just as smooth as my arrival, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, Hotel du Vin Henley offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and excellent service. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special getaway.

We returned here and were given an upgrade to a suite because of poor previous experience in their courtyard rooms. The suite bedroom was accessible only after climbing four flights of stairs from ground floor (just had foot op so that wasn’t ideal) . Whoever designed this hotel needs a serious talking to. The suite was a duplex, up first flight of stairs to bathroom area then another two flights of metal stairs to the bedroom and loo. Unbelievably again, no sockets anywhere near the bed. We were given an extension lead which was 1 metre long, 3 metres too short. The mirrors in the bathroom had light directly above so your face is in shade. No electricity point near mirror to dry your hair. Most definitely not with the £266 a night, which was discounted. Very uncomfortable. Plus side the meal was good in restaurant and all staff are very friendly and professional. Shout out to Joytal.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, while there were some definite positives, there were also some significant drawbacks that impacted our experience. Pros: The bedroom was spacious, providing plenty of room to relax. The toiletries were lovely, and the large towels and bathrobes were a luxurious touch. The bathroom was massive, which added to the feeling of comfort and space. Breakfast was fantastic, offering a great start to the day with a variety of delicious options. Cons: Unfortunately, the cons were quite significant: Parking was poorly signposted, both on the website and at the hotel itself, making arrival unnecessarily confusing. The TV in our room worked intermittently, and when we were moved to a second room, the issue persisted. Throughout our stay, we often felt more like a burden to the staff than valued guests, which was disappointing. The most frustrating issue was with the heating. It didn’t work in our first room, and when we reported it, the staff seemed unsure why. We were moved to another room, but the heating was also faulty there. We overheard other guests at breakfast mentioning that their rooms were cold as well. Eventually, staff admitted that the heating had been down since the weekend. It was frustrating that they initially implied the problem was isolated to our room when it clearly wasn’t. This lack of transparency felt almost like gaslighting, which isn’t acceptable, especially given the hotel’s price point. Overall, while the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, the issues with heating, communication, and customer service significantly impacted our stay. For the price, I expected much better treatment and honesty from the staff.
