Disappointing meeting of friends. Food was excellent, but despite booking a group for 15, seating was only available for 12 on separate tables. Not the occasion we had planned for. Wouldn't recommend for a social gathering. It's an eat quickly and move on venue.

The hotel was okay, room was cold when we first arrived and was heated by a electric heater right next to the put-u-up bed. Bathroom lock was unusable but that's not a biggy. Restaurant was dreadful. Tables really close together, which made going to food and back precarious, made worse by the children running around and rolling on the floor fighting. Food was limited, with a lot of the veg/sides not avaliable or dried out. However what food there was, was lukewarm to cold, even when the gravy was poured over it. Never ever had a Toby Carvery where everything has been cold - usually it's so hot the ladles are difficult to manage. Thought I would have a dessert to compensate - apple pie and custard. Nice slice of pie , good portion of custard ruined by lukewarm outer of pie that faded to cold in the middle. Hugely disappointing. Service was lack lustre to say the least. Breakfast- arrived at the hotel/restaurant door which was locked. Waited 10 minutes before a member of staff told us it was broken and to walk around the outside to front door. Found out the door wasn't broken, they had 1 key and the person who had it hadn't arrived for 7am! Breakfast was again on the cold side on every element apart from the toast! They need to sort out their hot plates because they're either set way too low or aren't working. In short - Hotel was okay, food was by far the worst Toby carvery I've been too. It was so bad it was funny!

Not customer orientated, just transactional. Carvery is like a production line and the customers are the products. Do make sure you pay attention and select the choice of meat you want on your plate as you have only one chance to get it right. If you are a senior citizen that deserves a bit more patience and assistance, get a friend or family member to walk the line for you instead.
