3.0a month agoMixed review. I stayed for 2 nights in the lodge, so I had 2 evenings where I ate at the carvery. First night was good, good service, food was great. Natalie was my waitress and the manager on duty checked me in to my room and was very pleasant. Second night, service was not so good. It was reasonably busy and I was told if I wanted to have a carvery I could but I'd have to sit in the pub area. No drama. In that area there are food menus displayed. I went to the bar after I'd finished my carvery to ask if I could order a pudding, was told no. Probably this is a good thing for my waist line, but the menus in the pub area shouldn't be there if they cannot walk an extra 5 metres to deliver a pudding. I didn't think the manager that night (Ken i believed he is called) had a decent grasp of what good customer service is in a busy-ish environment. The carvery was good both nights.

5.02 months agoLet’s set the expectations right from the start: this isn’t a luxury dining experience for those looking for that. Instead, Toby Carvery aims to deliver a quick, delicious roast with a selection of meats, all served with fast and efficient service. Given the price point, which is barely higher than a meal at McDonald’s these days, it’s hard to complain. My experiences have consistently been positive with friendly and efficient service. For me, it’s a solid five-star experience for what it intends to be. This is not a high-end destination, but it’s perfect for a casual family meal. The quality of the food justifies a better rating than what seems to be reflected in the reviews. While the reviews appear fair and genuine in highlighting issues people have faced, they do not align with my consistently fantastic experiences at Toby Carvery. For those looking for a quick and enjoyable roast without the frills, Toby Carvery is definitely worth a visit.

1.03 weeks agoA horrible visit, walked in this afternoon, a party of three, was told that there was a 20 minute wait, I decided to wait, anyhow , not even a proper eye contact, a party of four who walked in had no booking was taken straight to the restaurant, I just stood there . The chap Dan and blondie who is so unprofessional just didn’t even acknowledge me. Oh btw i am Indian, they whispered amongst themselves and just took the party of four over . I then got emotional and stated I will just eat on the other side of the restaurant which is pub part. We sat in a corner apart from everyone , and it was obvious because of the colour of our skin. No apologizes or nothing, and when I leaving blondie was just staring at me no customer service at all. I had my son who was 15th at old son with me and he felt out of place. When are we going to change . Took pictures of the staff member going up on social media ! Appalled!
