Very disappointed with our visit, due to reviews changed our destination for Sunday lunch as we love Toby carvery. We use them frequently on our travels around the country. Hemel Toby was our first visit. We were sat in a busy walk through between kitchen and main restaurant. I had requested a quiet table but appreciate it was a busy Sunday! I had a view of the kitchen floor which was filthy with dropped food and staff were walking in and out of it!! The veg was dry and debris was all around the serving dishes, not great.. the sauces were empty! Meat was ok, well the turkey was but the gammon was chewy and undercooked. I don't think I would bother visiting again, sorry.

I have to say I usually avoid Toby Carvery because of many bad experiences and poor quality of food when visiting many different restaurants over the years but this restaurant totally changed that. The food was great and full of flavour cooked perfectly. A big thank you to Sarah who was very friendly and welcoming from the minute we walked in.

Friendly, kind staff especially the manager and also the waitress Sarah. She even remembered the drinks and food we like to order, even though she only met us once before, which really impressed me. The food varies between average and marvellous, it really depends which chef you get on the day. For vegetarians I recommend the delicious brie and broccoli parcel. Also, the restaurant and toilets are beautifully clean, so the cleaner should be commended too
