I arrived early for a dinner party in Oxford Circus and, with some time to spare, remembered a pub my friends had recommended—The Wigmore. It wasn’t far, so I decided to check it out for a quick drink before the main event. From the outside, The Wigmore doesn’t have the typical pub look. In fact, I hesitated for a moment, searching for the entrance. Stepping in, I was greeted by a doorman, which isn’t something you expect in a pub. Behind him, heavy curtains added an almost exclusive, nightclub-like feel. But once past them, the scene shifted—warm, familiar, and inviting. Not wasting any time, I headed straight to the bar, where Diana, the bartender, was quick to help. I asked for a good IPA recommendation, and she brought me two tasters. The Siren IPA stood out—slightly sour but well-balanced with hops, just what I needed to start a Friday night. The atmosphere, service, and beer selection left a great first impression. Though my visit was brief, I’ll definitely be back for a proper experience.

Their bar snacks are AMAZING. The masala scotch egg is just a work of art. Great crispy texture, jammy quail eggs, and mix of flavours. The service was fast and professional. The space is beautiful. Really look forward to returning for a full meal.

Beautiful traditional English pub! I recommend booking in advance if you want to sit at tables (which I did). We had the signature grilled cheese sandwiches and they were delicious. We also had a bottle of water and two pints of Guinness, all for £38. The place was quite large, warm and welcoming. The staff were very kind and super friendly.
