Excellent service and presentation, but the price point isn’t quite there for me, and a bit disappointed in the desserts. We dined as a 4 for a dual birthday dinner and sampled a variety of the dishes on offer. The most intriguing was the £140 pie for 2 to share. It was tasty but I think overpriced, and didn’t find the small piece of aged fillet on the side necessary. The treacle tart was dry and disappointing. The service staff were great, and a little birthday treat was presented to each birthday boy which was a nice touch. Crepes Suzette prepared table side was also entertaining.

I recently went for the afternoon tea, and was very disappointed. Positives: very nice looking hotel, definitely has an Christmas feel. The deserts were very cutely decorated, Christmas themed. Negatives: for £84 I was unimpressed. The service, though they were polite, was slow. The sandwiches that we were told were freshly made, and had a 12 minute wait for them, came out cold and went hard very quickly as if they came from a fridge. The deserts were not to my tasting and the selection was not what I would expect from an English tea. If nothing else they gave you a sensory experience with the variety of textures, though the taste was to be desired. The sandwiches were nice, despite the above and the tea due to the slow service, I only received one selection despite 2 being included. So for £84 I had 5 finger sandwiches, a small pot of peppermint tea and a bite size scone for £84. Not worth it. Try the Ritz!

When I first saw the menu online I was a bit apprehensive - didn’t excite me. However I can say this is a hidden gem of a place! The food was outstanding - they take classics and just elevate them to a new level! I loved the chilled easy going vibe, I loved the service and the slightly old school way of serving! Honestly, this is a perfect place for a date night, had so much fun here
