This hotel is extraordinary. The interior decor is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the staff is absolutely incredible. I felt like I was part of a family. They didn't treat me just as a "guest". They offered a tour to show me their restaurants and even called afterwards asking if I liked my room and if I needed anything. And then, it even gets better. They came over with homemade cookies and biscuits!! What a wonderful greeting! They are the most courteous staff I have ever encountered. They genuinely care about their guests and want to ensure that they are receiving the best service possible. If I am in London again, I will certainly book another stay at the Montague. I am so happy that I found this gem of a hotel. They are certainly the best boutique hotel in London!

We stayed a few nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay. It's not an inexpensive hotel even with a promotional discount, but from experience traveling in European cities or even NYC, sometimes you really can end up in a falling apart hotel with awful sound insulation, leaking faucets, etc. If you can afford this gem, go ahead and splurge, this hotel is amazing. I wasn't too familiar with London's geography as far as best places to stay, but after exploring the city, we thought location couldn't be beat. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, tube, theater, yet on a quiet street. We also loved the fabric walls and thought the room was beautiful. Beautiful sheets, robes, slippers were all really lovely touches. The staff were polite, knew our names and were very helpful. We could hear people walking upstairs sometimes, but people need to keep in mind, this is an old part of town and most of the time hotels will be in older buildings with no modern soundproofing. Our neighbors were quiet though, so occasionally hearing footsteps above us didn't bother us.

Enjoyed afternoon tea here with friends. The food and setting was very nice but it was the service that made the experience really special. From being greeted at the door, taken to table and attentively professional yet friendly waiter service throughout. Also very helpful in addressing some allergy requirements in the group. Thank you to all the staff who made us so very welcome.
