I traveled to the Kensington solo for Christmas last year from Houston. It was the best hotel experience of my life by far! The staff took great care of me, even upgraded my room (I was in HEAVEN!), and were available for my every need. The room was incredible and absolutely made my trip. Lots of space, great heated floors (probably my favorite part), separate tub/shower, great amenities. And QUIET! I loved it so much, I booked another trip for this Christmas, and I’m counting down the days!

Oh, The Kensington. Our treasured home away from home when we are in London. From the moment you step inside you’re immersed in tranquility. There’s a gentle scent wafting in air. There’s beautiful furniture/decor that is both stylish and inviting. The reception team greet you warmly and are all so kind and efficient. And the rooms are outstanding. Beautifully decorated in a style that’s both traditional yet contemporary. And quite large by British standards. The beds and bedding are heavenly and the bathroom is so beautiful and quite a good size. But our favorite thing about The Kensington is George, one of the concierges. We met him the first time we came to the Kensington 10 years ago and developed an instant bond. We saw him gay this time and it was like no time had passed. We spent time looking at the photos. I took of us when we were here last time and even more fun trying to re-create the same photos. He is such a true gentleman who radiates kindness. Can’t wait to see him the next time we visit.

Stayed for 5 nights in November 2024. The Hotel has a lovely old charm, and the valet in top hat implies great old fashioned service, and some of it was, but much of it wasn't. The service was extremely inconsistent, some of the staff were friendly and professional, would use my name, would stop and chat and make me feel welcome. Other staff treated me like an inconvenience, and would look straight through me with no acknowledgement that they'd been seating me at breakfast for several days. Twice day housekeeping was great, until they completely forgot to service my room. Room service was a highlight, those staff should be serving in the restaurant. Food was okay, but not great, which for me sums up my stay. Definitely not a five star experience.
