5.0a week agoThe ambiance is really nice here. There was live musician, a violinist that was playing music which can be heard throughout the whole space. We had come here on a Saturday to have oysters and drinks. They had a selection of cocktails and they had an offer of two drinks for £12. The offer on the menu was written as if it would continue till midnight but the offer actually stopped at 23:00. My friends enjoyed their drinks and there were lots of people there enjoying the music and dancing. You need to order your drinks from the bar and I think you can also come here for food as well, as there were other people on the side having dinner. So their bar/drinking section is separated from their dining area. Overall, a very nice place, great decorations, good music, lovely atmosphere and good drinks.

3.0in the last weekWe went there on a Sunday afternoon to take advantage of their soft launch offer: 50% off bottomless Sunday roasts - from £45/person to £22.5/person. We arrived there just in time for our booking and we received a warm welcome. We were then quickly shown to our table. The host quickly explained to us how the offer worked and once we made sure we understood it, we proceeded to order our food. For starters, we went for: -smoked salmon -burrata -parmigiana eggplant -beef Carpaccio (although what was actually served was the fried calamari), but we didn't comment All the starter dishes were very good and fresh. I was particularly surprised by the calamari, as they didn't seem to be too oily, considering they're deep fried. Once we ate those, we ordered the roast pork belly and the chicken. The wait time was around 10 minutes, so quite good. However, this is where the cost-cutting measures showed: there were just a couple of pieces of veggies in the plate; I get the restaurant needs to make money somehow, so we would've expected that the meat would be less and they'd stock up on the veggies. That wasn't the case. 2-3 roast potatoes, 2-3 parsnips, one tenderstem broccoli and a very watered down gravy. The chicken tasted ok, however a bit bland. The pork belly was ok, too. It was mostly saved by the apple sauce on top of it. Upon finishing these, we thought we'd try the lamb shoulder and picanha. Same negligible quantity of veggies. The lamb shoulder was ok, a bit more flavourful than the pork belly. However, the picanha was rare. So rare that I could hear the cow still mooing on the plate. Both my wife and I tried to eat it, but it was way too rare for us, so we had to leave 90% of it on the plate. For desserts, we went for the cheesecake dome and the chocolate fondant. Both desserts were delicious, the chocolate fondant had hot melted chocolate in the middle which paired with the vanilla ice cream made it very enjoyable. It was a 3/5 star experience due to the very limited amount of veggies on the plate and the picanha, which we did not enjoy at all. Moreover, we don't think it's worth paying the full price (£45) for the bottomless brunch if they keep the same quantities.

4.0in the last weekOMG the bottomless roast at Smith's was amazing, really tasty and the portions were huge! Yesterday was soft launch so 50% discount, absolute bargain. Knocked one star off as wasn't a cloakroom or somewhere to hang my huge coat, and they were a little understaffed that getting the bottomless drinks topped up was a bit slow.
