Nice place and good location but the food was bang average for the price. Both our dishes were overcooked. The sauce that came with the tuna steak was delicious though. Good service. Wouldn’t go back, we just wanted nice food before a concert in the area.

This is my second Harry Potter-inspired afternoon tea. On arrival, there was no one at the reception so we had to flag a passing waitress. It set a precedent for the standard of service we would get throughout the experience. Once seated, we selected our pot of tea and the food arrived. None of the savouries were particularly memorable. I would even go as far as saying I enjoyed 1 out of 4 (smoked salmon). The tomato arancini was just odd tasting, perhaps too “wet” in the rice. I like it when the scones come out separately but sadly, they were room temperature by the time we got eating them. With that said, they were still fluffy inside and delicious. The desserts really saved this afternoon tea. I’m usually quite fussy and often find they are too sweet. However, all four were great! My favourite had to be the butterbeer panna cotta - I could have had another. As for the service, no one checked in during the 2 hours we sat there without us calling for their attention. I would have liked a refill of the tea and clean cutlery for the cream/jam spreading. Oddly when we did request more tea, they said it would be on the house? I have never come across this being charged before! I left RAILS with mixed feelings. The staff were nice but inattentive and the food was decent overall.

Booked in for the Harry Potter afternoon tea after seeing it posted - must admit it was very underwhelming and didn’t look much different to a regular experience other diners were having. 1 item was similar to butter beer and 1 to a chocolate frog but others nothing like we received. Location lovely and staff friendly & food was good - just not what we went for or expected
