5.02 months agoI attended one of the soulful brunches with my daughter and my niece (aged 16yo and 21yo) and it was fabulous! I had planned to attend for the soul session but didn’t properly research their performance time and so we were quite early, but luckily the last 45 minutes of our booking coincided with the performance. The food was great. It tasted how it looks! Also the performers were AMAZING! I have been telling everyone about the experience and will definitely be back. My daughter said it was like being at a concert! Our server was lovely and we had no issues. As we arrived early, we didn’t experience any disruption or delays in service but as we were leaving it was filling up so I am not sure if arriving at that time would’ve made a difference. Certainly the staff looked busier but they seemed to be coping well.

3.0a week agoWent here with a party of about 10 for a birthday. Nice place, but it’s an odd mix of a restaurant and a nightclub that didn’t entirely work. We waited over 40 minutes after our booked time to get in, presented ID to security and were guided to our seats where service was good, but there was a dance floor close by and music was so loud that I had to yell at the person next to me and there was no way I could hear anyone else at the table. Food was okay but music was so loud I couldn’t focus on the flavours anyway. Liked the decor and after eating decided to try the dance floor. There were no vibes, just people standing and not dancing much or making eye contact with anyone else. I’m guessing this was partly because the song choices were all over the place, no natural flow. It would go from garage to early Justin Bieber — strange! After returning to our seats, I asked for a double shot Baileys with ice. It took so long to come that I had to go looking for someone to ask if they’d forgotten, and then a single shot came in a shot glass. We went in a Saturday evening so maybe it’s better on a different day but while I liked the decor, I couldn’t see me going again.

4.0a month agoWe celebrated New Year’s Eve at Pergola on the Wharf in Canary Wharf, and the experience was an excellent way to ring in the new year. The evening was a lively affair, with a three-course meal, an hour of bottomless Prosecco, and music provided by a DJ who kept the party going well past midnight. Ambiance and Atmosphere The venue was vibrant, packed with energy, and had a fantastic vibe. From the moment we arrived at 8 p.m., the DJ was spinning great music, setting the tone for a festive celebration. The crowd was upbeat, and the atmosphere remained lively throughout the evening, making it a memorable New Year’s celebration. The Food The three-course meal offered a variety of choices, and we sampled several dishes: • Starters: I had the chicken starter, which was flavorful and well-seasoned. It came with a pickled mayo dip that added a tangy kick to the dish. My wife ordered the tuna tartare, which was the highlight of the starters. The tuna was fresh, with vibrant lime and avocado flavors that balanced beautifully. • Mains: For the main course, I had the mojito chicken, while my wife opted for the cod curry. • The mojito chicken was a generously portioned dish, likely grilled or roasted, served on a bed of corn purée blended with other elements that added a subtle sweetness. While the chicken was well-cooked, it was slightly on the dry side and could have benefited from a touch more seasoning. • The cod curry featured a large piece of well-cooked fish and a flavorful curry base. However, the dish lacked balance and could have used a fresh element to lighten the overall flavor profile. • Desserts: For dessert, we tried the chocolate tart and the baked cheesecake. • The baked cheesecake was a standout—light, airy, and perfectly creamy. • The chocolate tart, while paired with a delicious sesame twirl and cream, felt a bit dense and overcooked. It could have been improved with a softer, more decadent texture. Service and Overall Experience Considering the venue was at full capacity for New Year’s Eve, the service was impressively fast and efficient. Despite the large crowd, the kitchen consistently delivered well-executed dishes, and the overall experience felt polished and enjoyable. Final Thoughts Pergola on the Wharf delivered a festive and memorable New Year’s Eve experience. The lively atmosphere, excellent music, and thoughtful service made it a great venue to celebrate. While some dishes had minor areas for improvement, the food was overall well-prepared and enjoyable. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. Perfect for a celebratory night out with good food, great music, and a fantastic vibe.
