5.02 weeks agoEverything about this place was rather remarkable. So remarkable, we went to the restaurant twice in the same week. Both times, we were fortunate enough to be served by Chris, a wonderful waiter who was very nice, quick, attentive and understanding. He is the best waiter we've had in a long, long time. The food was great, hot, fresh and delicious. The menu was very varied, while the Sunday menu was definitely reduced, it was still nice and had great options. For our first visit, we had cannelloni, butter chicken and naan, and 2 sodas. Payed 68.14 pounds, with tip. For our second visit, we had the tuna tartar, repeated the cannelloni, had fish and chips 3 sodas and for dessert the chocolate fondant. Payed 112 pounds, with tip. 10/10!

5.0a month agoThe vibes and the food was awesome. We had the best time at Gordon’s restaurant. Stunning inside and pretty on the outside. We dined out for my husband’s birthday and the waitress (Nikoletta) made his day extra special with the happy birthday surprise. Thanks to all the waiters, waitresses and the chefs that made the experience amazing with their friendly but professional service. Definitely will recommend

3.03 weeks agoMy wife and I recently attended this restaurant to try the three course lunch menu. Overall we weren't impressed. The service was for the most part excellent, for example they were perfectly happy to swap the glass of bubbly, that came as part of our menu, for a glass of red wine. The food however was variable. For a starter I had the cauliflower veloute with truffle oil, truffle of course is a strong flavour but it was so strong that you couldn't taste the cauliflower at all. My wife started with the cod bites which, whilst crispy on the outside had soggy batter inside (too high a temperature in the fryer we reckon). My main was steamed sea breem which was perfectly cooked and outstanding, my wife had the flat iron steak which, although edible, was rather on the tough side. For desert my wife had the chocolate brownie with sauce which was very chocolatey indeed. I had the apple crumble with ice cream (I did ask for custard instead but they were unable to provide this) this consisted of some coldish cooked apple with a literal sprinkling of crumble dust on top, the ice cream didn't begin to melt until after id finished the 'crumble' . For me the crumble is the best bit so I was rather disappointed! My wife's wine had a lot of sediment in it and the wine waiter was happy to replace it, he wasn't so happy to replace mine when it also turned out to have large lumps of sediment in it, however my wife insisted and he did. The new wine tasted far better and we got the impression that they were using up the dregs in old bottles when they first served us. First and last time in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for us.
