2 night stay girls trip. Beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Leon working the bar was great. He engaged with myself and friends (4 of us) and his "banter" was hilarious. He really looked after us and remembered our names and choice of drink. His customer service was impeccable. Thank you

The great things about this hotel were the staff, the location and the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and responsive and tried to deal with our issues. The location was fantastic - right on the docks and among all these amazing historical buildings. The breakfast had a really good selection of food, and no congealed eggs sitting under a hot plate for hours! Every hot breakfast was cooked to order and we loved that. The less great things were the room itself and the noise. The room was really tired and ours was so dark it was actually a bit depressing! The bathroom was like a crypt - black walls, black floor and black ceiling, it honestly felt like you were getting showered in a coffin. The shower itself was terrible, too - the only option was a waterfall shower with no pressure and no hose for extra ablutions. And there was no way you could put makeup on properly, you could barely see your face. The desk was also chipped and the sofa was a little stained. Noise-wise, we were on the third floor right above the function room, and on the Saturday night, people were smoking weed on the function room balcony (despite the hotel's no smoking policy), which went straight into our room, and there was a karaoke disco that went on until midnight that was so noisy it was unreal. Forget having a relaxing, early night if you're in this hotel on a weekend. All in all, we did have a fantastic trip to Liverpool - what a historic city! - but the hotel was definitely a bummer and I wouldn't stay here again.
