Very welcoming and accommodating staff, who were very attentive but not overly so. The food menu was interesting and varied. Everything we ordered was tasty, hot and well presented. The drink selection was comprehensive and nicely chilled. Very dog friendly with a selection of snacks and drinks available for canine friends. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a nice cosy pub atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back.

I had been past this pub many times during my working life but had never been in, so on the way back from Leeds one evening one evening in December with my wife and daughter we decided to go in for tea. It wasn't busy and we were told we could sit where we wanted so we chose a table next to the window. We suddenly realised how cold it was in there and mentioned to one of the staff how cold it was. She told us the heating had been off for two weeks after a gas leak and wasn't fixed yet, the only heating were fan heaters above the doors and being a pretty big place they were not making much difference. We did move further into the middle away from the window which was slightly better. I must say the food was very good, I had fish with chunky chips, my wife and daughter had hunters chicken. The food was hot and sure it was freshly cooked and not like some of the places where it's warmed up in a microwave. We chose the to have the main course and pudding menu which gave quite a discount, basically getting the deserts for 50p. The staff were polite and friendly, the pub was clean and very pleasant. We will go again when the heating is fixed or in the warmer months.

It is just off the A64 York Road a short distance from the Atrium, Leeds Garden Centre, and the Red Bus Café. Certainly a regular for folks from Thorner, Whinmoor and surrounding, it is popular among those who own pets especially 🐕 dogs. There is a menu catering specifically for dogs, in addition to letting your poodle enjoy a drink of water 💧 and a cosy blanket. A few steps below the ground floor is a function room for your birthdays. You place your order and pay immediately at the bar 🍸. Try the hot meals on Sunday. Especially the lamb shank.
