Really disappointing evening last night. We were celebrating my father's 83rd birthday and we have always had good service and food in the past. I think the ownership and chef must have changed since our last visit. Our table was booked for 7pm and one preferred starter and dessert choice was already not available. We were told this after we had made our order. The main arrived at 9pm!! 2 hours after we sat down. Food was ok but small portions and overpriced. Overall really disappointing

This restaurant must of had a change of management or chef!!!! From previous visits this one was like I was in a totally different restaurant. The beef wellington that we have come to love has been ruined, presentation is out the window …. Such a shame . You will see that in over 8 million views I have rarely given a bad review but this made an exception….

After having a great experience here for my birthday earlier on in the year we booked our Christmas get together with parents. I had called the week before to double check the booking (as i had heard nothing). I was advised if we wanted the festive menu a deposit would be required. I payed the deposit and nothing more was said. On arrival we didn't feel very welcome from the beginning. The lady serving us had no idea we was due to have the festive menu and made us feel like we had made the whole thing up! She did check with the kitchen and they agreed to let us have the menu. We waited over 1.5 for starter. Drinks very slow. Our main meal again slow and cold. We waited 5 minutes for extra gravy. The staff not attentive or friendly. Made us feel very unwelcome, a very different experience from the last visit. When receiving our bill we where utterly shocked at the cost of the meal to the standard we had received and service. Such a shame, if this pub is for locals only maybe this should be stated when booking.
