At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is situated in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells, a charming and historic town in the Kent countryside. Converted from a Grade II-listed mansion, the hotel is one of this beautiful spa town's architectural landmarks, with authentic Georgian period details.

We went for dinner using a gift voucher today, the 4th of March 2025 at 5:30. The atmosphere was good, the starter and pudding was great but the mains is mediocre to say the least. I had a chicken schnitzel and my partner had the gnocchi. The gift voucher was for £97 plus we ordered a soda and beer which came out to £12, so £109 in total. The meal in itself on the menu only cost about £80. It was a gift so no complaints. The 3 star rating is not about the food at all. It is about the service. The lady who originally waited on us, her name was Frankie (I asked as I wanted to mention her name), was great, she was friendly and cheerful, she made us feel welcome. It went down hill for me when I asked for the bill and advised the Manageress that we are using a voucher, she then abruptly grabbed the bill and came back saying 'all okay', and left what I thought was the receipt, so we stood up and waited to get our coats. The said Manageress then saw us standing and said 'you have to pay for the drinks', I then said 'oh sorry, we did not get a bill' the Manageress said 'yes, you did, I printed it out for you!' and the expression on her face says 'nice try!' like we were going to leave without paying. Were we treated like that because we used a voucher and we were looked down upon, because that is exactly how the Manageress made us feel. She then proceeded to tell Frankie how to do something but quite abruptly as well in front of guests. The ladies behind us noticed it as well. Sorry to say but Frankie was a much better server by 100% compared to the Manageress. Two things - ONE - I did enjoy the meal and was thinking of coming back for pudding one day but totally changed my mind after how we were treated. TWO - I would not recommend the place to colleagues and friends because of the Manageress' attitude. Every little thing adds, in the service industry, especially nowadays, service should be topnotch from beginning to end especially in a place like Hotel Du Vin.

Staying at the Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells is such a pleasure. On the Sunday I had arranged to have Sunday Lunch. The dining room is light, airy and with proper silver service.. The food was absolutely spot on. The ambiance and the staff was perfect.. Our room was Belle Epoque facing over the gardens. Fabulous room, huge bed, well appointed with a Nespresso machine. The bath room was one of the biggest I have ever had with the fastest filling bath ever. The shower was a step in perfect. In line with their green ethos you could choose not to have the rooms serviced each day which suited us. Breakfast was delicious, great buffet and big, imaginative hot menu. Staff were an example to other places. Lily who was on reception and taking breakfast orders was the epitome of charm. Always with a smile. All the staff were immaculately turned out and charming. Particularly the young man in the bar, Lily and the restaurant staff. A perfect stay in a wonderful spot to see Tunbridge Wells.

Just had a Winter package, night's stay, dinner, and breakfast. It was fab, the staff are so good, friendly, helpful, nothing is too much trouble. A real pleasure and fantastic customer service. Lovely cosy room, great bed, fab shower, great shower products. Relaxed vibe in the bar, had a few drinks and really tasty snacks. Dinner was great, and breakfast was superb. Will be back soon.
