Service very friendly and welcoming from staff. Decent location and not too far from centre. Decent price compared to rest of Edinburgh……large room and very comfortable bed. Bathroom a bit dated, could do with upgrading. Bar area lacks any real atmosphere and has a “cold empty” feel to it. Decent breakfast buffet.

We loved our stay at the Malmaison, just outside the city city but a 15 minute tram (cost £2) it was well worth being out of the hustle and bustle after a day of sightseeing! The hotel is modern, clean and had a good vibe. The junior suite we stayed in was vast and the facilities excellent. We had dinner and breakfast within the restaurant and both were great, good sized portions and well presented. We had a great stay and would definitely return if in Edinburgh again!

I visited the Malmaison Edinburgh in August 2023. My trip was arranged at short notice so I paid a premium price. The hotel is in an beautiful location, albeit distant from the city centre. The hotel is modern and well maintained. The staff are courteous and efficient. My room was comfortable and warm. The best part of the trip was Chez Mal Restaurant which serves imaginative food. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Edinburgh but book well in advance to save money.
