We had an excellent two-night stay at Malmaison Dundee. The staff throughout our time were fantastic and so approachable. The room was spacious and very clean, with a great view of the nearby V&A. As part of our stay, we had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant. The steak was superb and the whole meal was excellent value at the promotional 50% off running on Thursdays. The manager also took the time to ensure we didn’t need to pay more than was needed in conjunction with our existing dinner offer that came with our booking. The location is perfect, a couple minutes walk to the train station, the V&A and eateries. We couldn’t have asked for anything more during our stay.

I was here for a works Christmas dinner, and it falls in the middle of the road category for me. The dinner took some time to come out, and I would say it was OK. Possibly not my flavour profile, but I wasn't a massive fan of the combinations (pesto on mashed potato?). Cranberries also ruined the desert for me, and lack of gravy for the main which had otherwise stunningly cooked beef felt dry. It was OK, but I feel like sometimes, it felt a little pretentious.

Wouldn’t stay here again. Rooms are very basic and pretty tired. The room was also very cold. We had a dinner reservation at 5pm only to be told about half an hour before that they couldn’t actually fit us in and we couldn’t actually find anywhere else because it was a busy Saturday night. Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. While the location is good there are far better hotels nearby.
