The Woollen Mills is a quintessentially Irish restaurant, deeply rooted in its history and local identity, overlooking the Ha’penny Bridge and the River Liffe.

The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years. Much like their award-winning sister restaurant, The Winding Stair, The Woollen Mills takes pride in being a having a piece of Irish (and specifically Dublin) heritage.

The Woollen Mills is a quintessentially Irish 'Eating House' - a house of food, a place to grab a serious coffee, a plate of Irish charcuterie, an Irish Porterhouse or a long ray & chips, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge and the River Liffey with a fine bottle of red or a craft cocktail.

The building itself spans over four floors and is situated almost directly atop the bridge, offering double-aspect windows and a rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of Dublin’s iconic cityscape. It is a truly magical space, brimming with character and charm.

The weekend Brunch menu features a range of exquisite starters including a macroom Irish burrata with mandi (Middle Eastern chilli, coriander and tomato chutney) and Woolley Wings chicken wings with a buffalo sauce and blue cheese dip. Brunch favourites include The Woollen Mills breakfast bowl, Waffles eggs Benny with bacon, poached egg & Béarnaise sauce and Croque Madame.

Fantastic restaurant named after the previous occupants of the building, the wooden mills. This is a cool trendy space with a fantastic riverside location. The staff are excellent and friendly. Very professional. Food was pretty decent but not quite perfect. Issue was immediately dealt with by the floor staff so we still had to a positive experience.

A good meal. Easy location. But the key note here is that the prices are, in our opinion, higher than what they’re worth. Yes of course you’re most definitely paying for the location but we’ve definitely had meals in equigeographic locations in other major cities with similar prices to The Woollen Mills but the food was more memorable. Cocktails were well mixed and the service staff were nice but by the midway point of our meal they disappeared and it was almost impossible to get service.

Nice spot for a meal. The food was all very solid with a spectacular cookie dessert. Some good people watching too as the restaurant and patio are right by a heavily used footbridge.
