Lovely pub in a great location, comfy rooms with thoughtful extras left in the room. Cosy bar with a great wine list and a restaurant that has an excellent menu. Enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend.

We only stayed for drinks but long enough to talk to the staff and enquire about their wonderful restaurant menu. They have a fantastic in house chef who has been featured in many a good restaurant guide- in fact, I was reading a Good Food Guide and saw the chef right in front of me as well as on the page I was reading! I was definitely a little star struck. It’s a beautifully old building with contemporary and antique Japanese art that ties it all together. Staff were lovely, as were the clientele. Even though we didn’t eat at the restaurant, we saw many people get their food that looked and smelled heavenly. Be sure to pop in and check it out; you won’t regret it!

We did not stay here, this is a review of the pub/restaurant. This was a magical find - the food is INCREDIBLE. The wine list is extensive and unique - choosing to celebrate small producers and growers over the big houses and popular labels. It is true farm to fork, nose to tail - it is evident in how the menu is put together. We enjoyed the most delicious home made bread, followed by what has to be the best pie in Yorkshire. Big call! It was made “fresh” - so took a little on the longer side but it was 100% worth the wait. Home-made pastry and the pie BRIMMING with tasty filling. This was enjoyed alongside a local lager which went down like a homesick mole. The desserts are next level. It truly is a hidden gem of a place - the staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s a really great vibe too! If we had more time in the area we would be going back - that is for certain!
