Toby Carvery - Bridgend

We booked last minute on our way back home to Newport. We were greeted lovely and sat down. However once we were served my partner who is 25 and myself sat with him being 25 weeks pregnant he was asked for id. (He is covered in tattoos also which is a dead giveaway for being over 18.) However we understand the policy and yes if you feel they look under 21 ask for id. We wouldn't of been so bothered if Mandy hadn't gone over to her work colleagues to have a laugh and a chat about what had just happened looking directly at me whilst chatting. I find this very unprofessional and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Won't be visiting again. Pretty generated reply!! No effort on the reply and this will be looked into or apologies for making us feel uncomfortable. Will stick to my local small businesses from now on that appreciate custom and actually deal with unprofessional staff member (Mandy) I would also like to add that, please ask Your staff member to wash their hands or spray after smoking as the smell of smoke was very noticeable!! Since I had such a vague comeback I feel this needed to be added!

She even took the time to engage with our kids, making them laugh and feel just as important as the adults. The food was, of course, delicious—the carvery was fresh, the roast meats were succulent, and the sides were plentiful. But it was Stacey’s exceptional service that made this meal stand out. She has a knack for anticipating needs before you even realize you have them, and she managed to make our evening feel special in a way that few servers can.
