We went for a Christmas do. Simon, our server, was absolutely outstanding. I'd go back just for him because he really engaged with our group and we had a laugh with him. My starter and dessert were really good but the turkey main course was a bit disappointing - the roasts were supposed to be garlic and (maybe) thyme (I can't quite remember) but I tasted neither and they were like lead and the sprouts were supposed to be shaved sprouts with chestnut but they honestly looked like they'd been cooked in the 1970s - were actually brown - and I neither saw, nor tasted any chestnut. In addition, the single, cocktail sausage-sized pig in blanket was really tasty but I felt it was a bit stingy; 2 or 3 would have been better. That said, the turkey itself was excellent, the gravy was great and the red cabbage was also good. As it was all edible and we hadn't eaten since breakfast, we ate it all anyway but I would not choose that for a main again. The decorations for Christmas were really nice and we loved the inclusion of Christmas Crackers on our table. Overall, it was a good experience and we all had a lovely time - thanks, Simon!

Popped in for a coffee, ended up staying for lunch and the Wimbledon men’s final on the big screen. Service is friendly and attentive, the prices are reasonable and the vibe is relaxed and upmarket. For lunch we had a half lobster and the prawn and Devon crab linguini. Finished off with the strawberry meringue sundae which was a decadent feast of flavour.

Sunday lunch; food very mediocre. Atmosphere is weird in restaurant. Needs a revamp! Food not the best we've had in Cardiff for a long time. Bland food with minimal portions. Limited veg but very hard ( understand it a personally choice) .Requested extra gravy, horseradish , mustard etc several times etc as lack of were giving out on first serving even second then third request. Desert portion was pointless! 5 people with less than 2 courses each with 2 cheap bottles of plonk over £260. Sorry had much pleasurable food and value elsewhere.
