Enjoy the classics such as a traditional and vegan Full English Breakfast, Organic Smoked salmon or an omlette, or indulge in a feast of sweeter dishes including Buttermilk Pancakes or Brioche French Toast with banana, dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut & maple syrup.

Sundays are all about friends, family and feasting at The George Hotel, a wonderful occasion to gather round, relax and be lavished with a delicious roast. Why not treat yourself to two or three courses and indulge in starters including Crispy Breaded Brie and Asiette of Atlantic Prawns with Scottish smoked salmon, Marie Rose sauce and avocado.

Now onto the main event. Freshly carved, and served with all the trimmings, choose from favourites including Angus Roast Sirloin of Beef, Lemon & Garlic Roasted Chicken and Confit Pork Belly & Pork Croquettes. This menu is suited for all with vegetarian and vegan options such as The George Thai Vegetable Curry and a pescatarian alternative, The George Fishcakes made with buttered spinach, cold water prawns, lobster bisque.

    Had lunch today told restaurant full yet empty! Ate in the bar area. Ordered fish finger sandwich. It came presentation good then found bones in my mouth skin on soggy fish . This was nothing like a fish finger sandwich. Said not edible no apology given. Meal taken off bill will never eat here again

    This beautiful place accommodated us at the last minute when we were forced to walk out of the hotel opposite (The Lion) because of inedible food. The George fitted us in and we enjoyed the most gorgeous Sunday lunch. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. It's definitely somewhere I will return to. Exceptional food, ambiance, staff. 100 💯 review, thankyou so much

    It would be 5* but... Good location close to A1, good decor. Service efficient and food good. Problem with smoked haddock risotto, which contained chicken. No mention on menu. When questioned I was told smoked haddock risotto is often made with chicken! No apology, bit annoying as a pescatarian.
