My husband and I were gifted a Gin tasting experience at the Brewhouse and Kitchen. We were joined by four other people, and I had just the best time getting to know the other people in the group. Our host was Lottie (thank you Lottie) she was very knowledgeable about the different Gins that we tried, and it was great that Lottie left us time in between each of the five gins to have a great chat with the other guests. I now have a new favourite Gin, one of which I have never heard of before. Neil and I really enjoyed meeting you guys (if you get to read this review) We also stayed overnight at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in one of the 10(?) rooms, and what a room! It was beautiful. It had tall ceilings and was beautifully decorated. We didn’t take our dog this time, but we were pleased to find out that there are available rooms if you do want to bring your dog on your overnight stay. The pub itself is also dog friendly. The breakfast the next morning was just great, with vegetarian options, which is important to me. All the staff were very friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

I booked a beach hut for a social event on Friday the 13th December. When we arrived it was in use, no reservation sign was used, but the staff rectified this quickly. We were told to order at the bar when we were ready. Most of the group just wanted drinks, but I'd decided I wanted to try the vegan loaded fries. I checked the menu that had been left with us, and added this to my drink order. Imagine my disappointment when I was told that food was not available to walk-ins! We'd booked the hut for the whole evening, so was puzzled that we were classed as walk-ins. I returned to the bar to challenge this, and the rule was reiterated because there were a lot of "Christmas bookings" with no real apology. I asked again if our booking made a difference and checks were made, but the answer was the same. When I said we'd probably only stay for one drink, this was met with an "OK". Given the close proximity to Christmas, we decided the likelihood of getting a place elsewhere with food was pretty slim. The same as the likelihood of me getting any food at Brewhouse it appeared. I decided to add some crisps to my next order, only to find there was one vegan option and only one packet of those. We had a good time, but I was left feeling a bit hangry. Whilst I understand that Christmas is a busy time, the booking reminder I'd received that morning made no mention of the fact that food wouldn't be available, and following the link for this review, I was met with the phrase, "Serves food at the bar", well, not last night! Communication is key. If it's a busy time, and the usual service can't be provided, please let customers know, that way they can either eat before arriving, or choose another venue.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch, over nighted in a nice bedroom and a wonderful breakfast. All the staff we came in contact with here friendly and helpful. Over nights include a complimentary beer in the bar and breakfast. I think this if an amazing value for money establishment. Thank you we really enjoyed our visit to you property. We will definitely be back !
