Not the greatest of welcomes. Stood next to the 'wait here' kiosk with staff ignoring because they were busy. Until the queue numbered over 10 people. Staff were stressed, carvery meat slicer looked fed up/tired and didn't engage even when we were saying thank you to him. Food was mediocre and put on a cold plate so you ended up eating g a cold carvery dinner. Meat portions need addressing or simply put the price up by £1. I'm 47 not 12 years old, I don't expect to be able to see through a piece of meet! Having said that the roast were lovely, the 2 poor struggling girls running around clearing tables were very efficient. More staff is needed, though.

Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful on our first visit. The food was great, and they came to check everything was as we wanted, and we were happy. There was a friendly conversation, and as we were leaving, they wished us a safe journey and a good holiday. We went there on route to our ferry crossing. At first, we thought it was a way off our route, but it was close to get back on route and well worth the stop.

The pub itself is lovely and everyone is friendly and relaxed. The staff are very polite and friendly. However, the guy serving the carvery looked like he didn't want to be there and came across quite miserable. The plates were cold, the roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, sprouts and parsnips were so hard we couldn't even cut through them. Shame because the venue is lovely.
