5.0a week agoWe only came here for a meal so I can’t comment on the rooms. Based on our experience I highly recommend The Hare & Hounds, the food was good, but for us it was the service and atmosphere created by the staff. We felt very welcome, even though we had the one server? many other servers chatted to us or checked to make sure we had everything we needed. There seemed to be plenty of seating (pub area, barn area and outdoor seating) with many being reserved so recommend reserving a table so you don’t miss out (we didn’t have a reservation but was shown to a table straightaway) The Hare & Hounds has a dog friendly area, my dog was also given a sausage so she was very happy. Highly recommend

5.0a month agoWe had our Daughters wedding reception at The Hare and Hounds last weekend, the staff were amazing, they could not do enough to help and make everyone feel so welcome. The food was very good, the rooms were excellent, it made for a very special day and evening. The facilities there worked really well with our own bar area, restaurant that turned into an ideal evening entertainment area. The Chef was very attentive making sure we were happy and the Manager Max and events manager Dani were incredible they did not stop working to ensure we had a great time. I recommend this to anyone looking for a family event or wedding for up to 70 people. Thanks very much Max and Dani.

2.0in the last weekWe had Sunday lunch on an averagely busy late afternoon. It was the price compared to the quality of the food that was really disapponting. I was expecting great things as the beef roast was £24 (!) with accompanying vegetables, gravy and a huge yorkshire pudding. Sadly the beef looked like it had been cut and left out all afternoon, and it was tough as old boots. I gave up trying to eat it halfway through. The Yorkshire pudding was dry. Desert was nice but I had to use a donated spoon to eat it. The poor waiters had to cover the whole restaurant just the two of them on what imagine is one of the busiest days of the week. For an extra £4 you can go two minutes up the road and get a really exceptional roast with fantastic service at The Woodspeen. I'll hesitate to go back which is a shame as I have had good experiences in the past at The Hare and Hounds.
