We were a party of five adults plus a dog, and booked a lovely dog-friendly place in the corner of the restaurant. We had eaten at the Flying Fox many times before COVID, and it wasn't bad, especially in the summer with our grandchildren. But now it is the Ego, the food is at a much higher level. Delicious, interesting, even the sides are different and imaginative. We contructed a lunch from one starter and two sides, which was really satisfactory and enabled us to sample a variety of different tastes. Then, as someone who does not like a lot of sweet food, it was great to see they offered mini-desserts with a hot drink. The service was good and friendly, our waitress was Madelaine. It is hard to think how they could have improved on our very pleasant visit. We will certainly go back again.

I cannot fault a single thing. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the cheerful and friendly staff. We were then seated by Danielle, who was our lovely waitress for the evening. Even though the restaurant was busy, we didn’t have to wait long at all for our drinks and food; we were also never rushed. The food was all delicious and beautifully presented. My husband and I had the Andalusian pork which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our son had steak from the junior children’s menu, this was a nice change than the usual burger and chips. You can see a lot of hard work and effort has been put in by all of the staff to make it run smoothly - you should all give yourselves a pat on the back :) We will definitely be coming back again soon!

We came back to the flying fox as last Boxing Day we had a bad experience and previously we had enjoyed coming here. Now they have transformed the pub and have new owners - we had a superb evening. Staff were exceptional especially Charlotte A, so friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world with plenty of choice and great interior and will be coming back. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy with good Christmas vibes.
