Built in 1891, The Embankment hotel is situated on the beautifully-landscaped embankment of the River Great Ouse in Bedford, offering stunning views and amazing menus.

The Embankment has an extensive Breakfast menu with something to suit everyone. Whether you're looking for something hearty to fuel you for your day, or just a light bite, this menu has lots of great options.

Using the best quality, free-range sausage and bacon, The Embankment offers a classic Full English Breakfast, or a Sausage & Egg Patty in a cheese brioche and Bacon Bloomer. If you're looking for something sweeter, indulge in the American Pancakes with maple syrup & cripsy bacon or blueberries & crème fraîche. 

The Embankment also offer a decadent two or three-course Sunday Menu. Starters include Garlic & Paprika King Prawns with roasted tomatoes on sourdough and a Baked Somerset Camembert with a roast garlic crumb, onion marmalade and croûtes.

For the main event: freshly carved, and served with all the trimmings, choose from favourites including Dry-Aged Rump of Beef, Free-Range Pork & Crackling, Free-Range Chicken Supreme and a vegetarian Wellington.

    We are absolutely thrilled with our choice of venue for our reception and overnight stay! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The reception was beautifully organized, and the setting was perfect—elegant, intimate, and exactly what we had envisioned. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail was impeccable. They were friendly, professional, and truly made us feel special throughout the entire event. Staying overnight in the room overlooking the river was the cherry on top. The view was breathtaking, and the roll-top bath added a touch of luxury that made our stay even more memorable. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This venue exceeded all our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect blend of stunning surroundings, outstanding service, and unforgettable moments.     Came here for valentine's with my boyfriend, we got seated straight away but it took the waitress 30 minutes to come to our table and ask for starters, and tell us that we had 10 minutes to order everything we'd want that night. The chicken schnitzel and the apple dessert were charred a little but the rest was very delicious. The drinks were very nice too. However at the end of the night we were told that our bill had been paid and that they'll call us later if they needed to charge us. Aside from that, he waitresses were lovely and very efficient. Nice place overall and would recommend coming here.

    Came here for drinks and some snacks. The restaurant is well decorated and staff were warm and welcoming. Drinks selection on offer is good and the service was good too. Unfortunately as some other reviews also suggest, the food is overpriced/ small portions.
