This gastropub is a social space enjoyed by all, including a sunshine terrace to the front and an open-air pop-up summer bar in the old stable block. All of the food is cooked fresh with an extensive drinks menu, including the perfect pint of Guinness.

Offering an a la carte menu alongside lunch specials throughout the pub, The Stamford also serve a crowd-pleasing set price menu on a Sunday, including their famous mixed meat roasts. Choose from options such as roast topside of beef or half chicken, with vegetarian and vegan options available too. The roasts are served with Yorkshire pudding, seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and gravy.

Located in Bowdown, just outside Altrincham, The Stamford is not far from Hale station.

    Great local pub. Staff are friendly, the food is fantastic and the beer selection is awesome. We've been for both Sunday roast and the normal menu (as someone who grew up on the coast, it's hard to find decent fish and chips but the Stamford delivered!) Highly recommend!

    We had our annual friends Christmas meal here and the food was excellent. The portions were a decent size and the set menu had plenty of choice. My seabass was really tasty. We were in a little room on our own which was nice. The service was very good too. Would definitely return for a meal in the future.

    Been coming here for years, and can’t fault it. Food great and service also great. Waitress Grace always happy and serves with a smile and goes out of her way to be pleasant. 💛
